Superintendent Ric Dressen Wins Statewide Leadership Award

He'll be honored at a conference of the Minnesota Association of School Administrators this October in Duluth.

Superintendent Ric Dressen won the 2013 Polaris Leadership Award from the Minnesota Association of School Administrators (MASA) earlier this month.

Dressen, who was named Rotarian of the Year by the service organization's Morningside chapter this past June, will be given the leadership award during a statewide conference that runs Oct. 6 to Oct. 8 in Duluth.

Dressen told the Sun Current he was humbled to be chosen and that the award also honors the work of others in the school district.

"Dr. Dressen is recognized for qualities such as professional courage, creation of a legacy of excellent leadership, fostering innovation, contribution through example and mentoring, exemplary conduct reflecting integrity and bearing emulation, and significant tenure in each position to support district vision and affect positive change,” according to a statement put out by MASA.
