Officials Swing For The Chain Link Fences At Braemar Golf Dome Groundbreaking

Mayor James Hovland and city manager Scott Neal were among the speakers at the Braemar Golf Dome Groundbreaking Tuesday morning.

This November, more than 20 months after the Braemar Golf Dome collapsed in a fire, the dome will reopen in Edina.

Tuesday morning, Braemar officials, golf fans, city staff and elected officials gathered for the groundbreaking ceremony for the new facility.

Speeches by Braemar general manager Todd Anderson, the head golf pro Joe Greupner, mayor James Hovland and city manager Scott Neal were followed by synchronized hacks of golf balls into a chain link fence.

After the ceremony, Mayor Hovland took the opportunity to corner Greupner for a short, free lesson.
