Edina Qualifies for State Sustainability Certificate

Edina was given the highest sustainability award handed out by the League of Minnesota Cities.

For the second straight year, Edina has received an accolade for its sustainability practices from the League of Minnesota Cities.

Edina was re-certified recently as a "Level Three Greenstep City" by following 28 "best practices" to use its resources efficiently, provide healthy environments for residents and help citizens become active in their communities.

Edina has been a "Greenstep" city since 2011 and a level three city—the highest award given—since 2012.

The program “is a great tool for networking with other cities to see who is doing great work out there,” Edina environmental engineer Ross Bintner said in a statement.
