Smashburger held a grand opening ceremony today for its first Edina location, in Southdale Center.
Allison Kaplan, Mpls.St.Paul Magazine’s shopping and style editor, conducted the “ceremonial smash”—she cooked a burger on the griddle—to the applause of store employees.
It’s the Denver-based chain’s ninth Minnesota location. When it opens for business on Wednesday, it will serve up regional menu items such as the Twin Cities Smashburger—topped with layers of melted aged cheddar and Swiss cheeses, garlic grilled onions, lettuce, tomato and mayo on an onion bun.
