Two Edina Chiropractors Disciplined for Substance Abuse

James Patrick Mellin II and Timothy Devries were disciplined for substance abuse Aug. 1, according to the Star Tribune's Whistelblower blog.

The Minnesota Chiropractic Examiners Board handed out disciplinary actions earlier this month for both sexual misconduct and substance abuse findings.

According to the Star Tribune's Whistleblower blog, two chiropractors from Edina, James Patrick Mellin II and Timothy Devries, were disciplined for substance abuse Aug. 1.

Mellin has a history of drug and alcohol problems and was given a stayed suspension and a probationary license, the newspaper reported. Devries had been monitored for alcohol dependency and tested positive for use in April. He surrendered his license voluntarily, but can apply for reinstatement at any time, according to the Strib.
