Most Edina Residents Find 'Nothing' to Complain About With the City

A survey of Edina residents show that 99 percent rate life as good or excellent, according to the Star Tribune. However, redevelopment creates a little tension.

When Edina residents were given free reign in July to complain about any issue facing the city, most couldn't think of a single thing.

According to the Star Tribune, the City of Edina surveys residents every two years, and this year's survey, conducted by Decision Resources, revealed that 34 percent of those surveyed said they couldn’t think of a single serious issue that faced the city. Bill Morris, president of Decision Resources, told the Edina City Council the next highest “nothing” response among area cities is 25 percent, with most being about 6 percent, the newspaper reported.

However, this year's survey did show a decrease in the number of people who would rate their life as "excellent," down to 73 percent from 90 percent in 2011. According to the Star Tribune, the drop could be attributed to the 10 percent of respondents who said the city's housing teardowns are the most serious issue facing the city.

Many also said they'd like better quality and tasting drinking water and better street repair, the Strib said. But, all in all, 99 percent of residents rated life as good or excellent.
