September 2013 Events at the Edina Library

From baby storytime to Raptor of Minnesota, check out some of the events happening at the Edina Library.

The Edina Library will be hosting Baby Storytime staring 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays, Sept. 3 to Sept. 17. 

The weekly event is for children from birth to 24 months. 

“Delight and stimulate your baby's senses with books and music,” according to the Hennepin County Library website.

Great Decisions: NATO

Monday, Sept. 9, 4:15–5:45 p.m.

Location: Fireside Room, Edina Senior Center, below the library

Retired Foreign Service officer and media commentator Tom Hanson will discuss NATO's history and its place in the contemporary foreign policy world.

Master Gardener: Pruning Trees and Shrubs

Saturday, Sept. 14, 10:30a.m.–noon

Topics include timing, how to prune, steps in pruning, the do's and don'ts of pruning and the proper tools to use.

Presented in collaboration with Hennepin County Master Gardeners, University of Minnesota Extension. 

Edina Reads: Paulette Alden

Monday, Sept. 23, 7–8:30 p.m.

Location: Fireside Room, Edina Senior Center, lower level of the library

In her novel, "The Answer to Your Question," Minneapolis author and teacher Alden explores how well we're able to know those we love, why our deepest attachments are not always the predictable ones, and the mystery of why we do the things we do. Books will be available for purchase.

Raptors of Minnesota

For families. Meet an owl, hawk, falcon and very special guest - a bald eagle - from the University of Minnesota's Raptor Center. Learn about the different types of raptors, their characteristics, identification, diets and habitats.
