The Edina Police Department is holding a couple classes to teach residents proper methods of handling weapons.
A "Responsible Firearms Ownership" class will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday at the South Metro Public Safety Training Facility, 7525 Braemar Blvd.
“Whether you agree with stricter gun control or not, we can all agree that gun safety should be a top priority,” Edina Police Chief Jeff Long said in a statement.
The class, put on in connection with the Edina Crime Prevention Fund, will give product demonstrations and educate attendees on Minnesota's firearm laws, permit to carry, weapon-and-ammunition storage and child-gun safety.
Elementary-aged children are encouraged to attend the free class with their families.
