Organizers plan to start a new mountain bike team in Edina, according to the Minnesota High School Cycling League.
In the inaugural season last year, the league had 16 teams—including west metro high schools like Hopkins. The 2013 season kicks off in September and runs through October.
Resident Tom Kendall has organized an informational meeting for those who want to form an Edina team. The meeting takes place from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Edina Community Center. Anyone with questions should e-mail Kendall at tomkendallrealtor@gmail.com.
