In the forum, which lasted a little more than an hour, candidates answered questions about the achievement gap, funding, technology the issues that motivated them to run for school board and the philosophical underpinnings of their educational beliefs.
In just over a month, Edina voters will be able to weigh in on four open seats on the school board.
The election will be held Nov. 5. All school board seats are at-large, meaning the entire school district will be able to vote for each seat.
Nine people—seven newcomers and two current board members—are vying for the seats.
All nine candidates—Regina Neville, Randy Meyer, David Goldstein, Danielle Busby, Mark Sparano, Lisa O’Brien, Gayle Castro, Vivien Talghader and Leonel Dorvil— were present at the forum.
