Neighborhood Association Plan Takes First Steps

So far three neighborhoods have formally organized.

Edina seems to be making good progress in its efforts to recognize neighborhoods recognize formal neighborhood associations.

Three of the city’s 45 neighborhoods have formally organized and more are expected to do so shortly, the Star Tribune reported.

The city approved a plan in April that aimed to use neighborhood associations as a way to improve communication on hyperlocal issues. But some residents worried that the associations would be costly and that Edina had ulterior motives.
