(MAP) How Did Edina Vote on the Marriage Amendment?

A precinct-by-precinct breakdown of how Edina residents voted on the marriage amendment in 2012.

After putting together a precinct breakdown of how Edina voted regarding the Senate District 49 race, a few readers requested we put together similar breakdowns for other big Election Day contests.

You asked for it, so we processed unofficial election data into another color-coded map.

This one in particular shows how Edina precincts broke on the constitutional amendment regarding gay marriage. While not a single Edina precinct had 50 percent or more votes in support of the amendment, the percentages varied greatly depending on which part of Edina you're talking about.

To help you make sense of the above map, consult the following color key:

Color Percent Voting 'Yes' Dark Red Less than 30% Light Red 30%-35% Light Green 35%-40% Green 40%-45% Dark Green 45%-50%

62 must be a powerful dividing line. Would not have expected that.

It's actually really interesting, Tom. Crosstown appears to have divided marriage amendment support/opposition, while Hwy. 100 divides voter ID. Edina's highways apparently have some political power.

This who things has been interesting, but seeing the divides like that really gives you an idea of what's going on.

The new layout of the Patch is fine. A few of the liberal/left-wing posters are not happy thatRead More they can't have a running commentary on each story, and hurl personal insults at conservative posters.

Hi @mary kosters. Were you able to fill out the feedback form? We're collecting feedback so we canRead More decide what, if any, changes to make in the future with the layout. The lead photo of the marching band is intended to stay the same every day. That is not a story photo; it is a picture that shows a slice of life in Edina. Can you be a bit more specific about what you don't like about the division of news, home and business? Those divisions are almost identical to how things were divided prior to the redesign, so I want to understand what you find useless.
