Bronze Eagle Statue Commissioned for Edina Veterans Memorial
A bronze eagle sitting on a wreath will be the centerpiece of the Veterans Memorial at Utley Park.
The Edina Veterans Memorial Committee has picked a Wisconsin foundry to design and cast a bronze eagle sitting atop a wreath as the centerpiece of the Veterans Memorial at Utley Park.
Wally Shoop Sr. and his company, Shoop’s American Bronze Casting, Ltd., based in Osceola, Wisc., will begin casting in the coming weeks, using a handmade wax process.
A dedication for the memorial will be held on Veterans Day, Nov. 11.

The Veterans Committee is currently looking to raise donations.
Edina has lost 32 native and adopted residents during wartime, all of whom will be individually recognized at the Veterans Memorial in Utley Park (50th Street and Wooddale Avenue).
