Unknown Suspects Paint Graffiti on Trucks, Building on France Avenue

$300 worth of tree grates were also reported stolen from the 7700 block of York Avenue.

Monday, Jan. 14

  • Police responded to the 5200 block of Vernon Avenue on a report of vehicles entered by an unknown person. No loss was reported.
  • Police responded to the 4000 block of 51st Street on a report of theft from auto. $5 in cash was reported stolen from a vehicle.
  • Police responded to the 4000 block of 51st Street on a report of theft from auto. Clothing and sports equipment valued at $1,255 was reported stolen from a vehicle.
  • Police responded to the 4200 block of 76th Street on a report of stolen license plate tabs. The tabs were valued at $40.
  • Police responded to the 4800 block of 50th Street on a report of an unauthorized use of a check.
  • Police responded to Christ Presbyterian Church on a report of an unknown male in a non-public area of the church.
  • Police responded to the 7200 block of Monardo Lane on a report of a violation of a restraining order.
  • Police responded to the 6100 block of Habitat Court on a report of theft. Jewelry valued at $8,550 in total was stolen by an unknown person from a box in the garage.
  • Police responded to the 300 block of Madison Avenue on a report of theft from auto. A laptop valued at $529 was reported stolen from a vehicle.

Tuesday, Jan. 15

  • Andrew James Schanke, 18, of St. Louis Park, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a small amount of marijuana after a traffic stop near the intersection of Hwy. 100 and 50th Street.
  • Police responded to the 5700 block of Kemrich Drive on a report of a violation of a protection order.
  • Police responded to the 4800 block of Lakeview Drive on a report of unauthorized use of a financial account.
  • Police responded to the 6300 block of France Avenue on a report of possible child endangerment.
  • Police responded to Creek Valley Elementary School on a report of an out of control juvenile causing a disturbance.
  • Shawn Douglas Shattuck, 37, of Minneapolis, was arrested for domestic assault near the intersection of Wooddale Avenue and Country Club Road.
  • Police responded to the 7600 block of France Avenue on a report of a lost vehicle.
  • A 16-year-old juvenile was arrested for shoplifting and trespassing for stealing $328 in clothing at Southdale Center.
  • Anthony Dobyne, 27, of Minneapolis, was arrested for possession of stolen property for stealing $328 in clothing at Southdale Center.
  • Jesse Quinte Dobyne, 18, of St. Louis Park, was arrested for theft for stealing $328 in clothing at Southdale Center.
  • Mary Margaret Leither, 56, of St. Louis Park, was arrested for theft and giving a false name to police after attempting to steal $365 in miscellaneous items from Herberger's.

Wednesday, Jan. 16

  • Police responded to Edina Cleaners on a report of property damage. An unknown suspect spray painted graffiti on trucks parked at the business.
  • Police responded to Shiraz Rugs of Distinction on a report of property damage. An unknown suspect spray painted the side of the building.
  • Police responded to the 5100 block of Edina Industrial Boulevard on a report of theft from auto. A purse valued at $151 was reported stolen from a vehicle.
  • Police responded to the 7700 block of York Avenue on a report of theft. An unknown person reportedly removed and absconded with tree grates, valued at $30 in total.

The lead photo of the marching band is intended to stay the same every day. That is not a story photo; it is a picture that shows a slice of life in Edina. Can you be a bit more specific about what you don't like about the division of news, home and business? Those divisions are almost identical to how things were divided prior to the redesign, so I want to understand what you find useless.
