Edina's Bredesen Park has been the target of a series of vehicle thefts, with thieves breaking windows and stealing purses and wallets.

The park has seen ten daytime auto thefts since the beginning of October. In nine of the thefts, a purse or wallet was reported stolen.

“If you must keep valuables in your car, place them in the trunk of your vehicle before you arrive at your destination,” Molly Anderson, Edina's crime prevention specialist, said in an email.

The Edina Police Department has boosted patrols in the area.

Meanwhile, Edina Police are busy on their speed traps on Hwy 100, instead of patrolling the parks for crime.

I am also a little surprised in a town with so little crime how long it takes to get a response for a non-emergency issue from the police department.
