Rash of Laptop Thefts Across Edina; One Car Hit for $15,600 of Laptops, Phones

Monday, Dec. 2

- Clothes worth $155 were shoplifted from the Southdale Herberger's by a 20-year-old Minneapolis woman.

- Two 14-year-old girls shoplifted $206 in clothes from the Southdale Macy's.

- A computer bag with four cell phones, three laptops and an iPad—worth a total of $15,600—were stolen from a car parked in the east end of the Edina Galleria parking lot. The window to the car was smashed open.

Tuesday, Dec. 3

- A 31-year-old Minneapolis woman was arrested for driving drunk, with an open bottle of alcohol, near the intersection of Hwy 169 and Hwy 62.

Thursday, Dec. 5

- A 15-year-old male was arrested for trespassing on the 6700 block of Valley View Rd.

- A $1,020 laptop was stolen from a car at the Edina Galleria.

- A laptop worth $2,220 was stolen from a car parked on the 4100 block of 76th Street.

- A $1,650 laptop was stolen from a car on the 4300 block of Eton Pl.

Friday, Dec. 6

- A 49-year-old Lakeville man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol on the 5100 block of Gorgas Ave.

- A $666 iPad was stolen from a store in Southdale Mall.

- Laptops worth $3,550 were stolen from a vehicle on the 5000 block of Vernon Ave.

- A 19-year-old Windom man, a 23-year-old Excelsior woman and a 46-year-old Shakopee man were arrested on the 6300 block of Peacedale Ave for possession of drug paraphernalia, giving a false name to police and possession of an open bottle of liquor.

Saturday, Dec. 7

- A 34-year-old St. Louis Park woman was arrested for shoplifting $186 worth of clothes from the Southdale Herberger's.

Sunday, Dec. 8

- A $450 iPad left on a table on the 7500 block of France Ave. was stolen.
