'La Bratique' Opens Punningly Named Bra-Fitting Store for Young Women

Braboleta, a boutique targeting young women age 14 to 24, opens its France Avenue doors Tuesday morning.

Edina's punning bra-fitting service, La Bratique, has helped women find comfortable brassieres for years from its second-story storefront on France Avenue. 

Starting Tuesday morning, Edina's teenage girls and young women will have a European bra-fitting boutique of their own as La Bratique opens its new branch, Braboleta.

The store's name comes from the Portuguese word "borboleta," which means "butterfly."

"The butterfly symbolizes the time in a girl’s life when she is transforming into something beautiful; her body is changing, she is figuring out who she is and how she is unique" according to Braboleta's website. "Our vision is to become a national resource, partner and destination for girls and their mothers to learn about their changing bodies, to learn how to care for their bodies, and for tips on how to gracefully bloom into their full potential."

Braboleta is aimed at girls age 14 to 24, carrying bras in "every color" in sizes ranging from focus is on proper fit so we will carry bras in sizes from 30A to 40HH.

"We will educate young women on what it means to have a properly fitted bra and how it can shape and support them, giving them a balanced silhouette,” owner Tracy Anderson said in a statement. not one brand can fit all shapes and sizes. Braboleta will open the doors to its 5049 France Avenue S storefront Tuesday morning. A grand opening celebration is planned for Aug. 2.
