Where is the Worst Driving in Edina?

Share the locations of problem spots on Patch’s interactive map.

Every community has its places with a reputation for bad driving — residential neighborhoods that drivers barrel through, intersections where drivers rev their engines for quick starts and winding roads that tempt drivers to race through the curves.

Edina is no different.

Patch wants to know where you think the worst places in Edina are. Use the map above to share the places that give you white knuckles. Simply click the "Add" button, enter an address and type in the variety of bad driving that location is known for: Do cars ignore pedestrian crossings? Do they zoom through streets where children play? Do they overlook cyclists?

When you’re done, use the comments section below to share your thoughts and offer recommendations on what can be done to make problem spots better.

The worst driving is near Southdale, and that's because of the interminable waits at stoplights.

Two solutions:
-Get rid of some of the stoplights. They are not needed at every blasted intersection.

-Use the yellow-flashing left turn signal at the remaining intersections with stoplights, so that cars can proceed when there is no oncoming traffic. Many cities across the country already use these yellow-flashing left turn lights.

If something is not done with the stoplights around Southdale, congestion will only get worse, as the Edina City Council has authorized unchecked growth in the area.
