One of Highlands Elementary School's best kept secrets is apparently the amount of talent in the school's ukulele club.
The school district recently shared a video of the students playing and singing an old Appalachian folk song by the name of "Rocky Mountain." Even Principal Peter Hodne got in on the fun, and can be spotted on the far left side of the band.
For anyone who might be wondering what exactly the ukulele club is singing—or perhaps you want to sing along to the video—here are the lyrics.
Verse 1
Rocky mountain, Rocky mountain, Rocky mountain high.
When you’re on that Rocky mountain hang your head and cry.
Chorus
Do, do, do, do, do remember me.
Do, do, do, do, do remember me.
Verse 2
Sunny valley, sunny valley, sunny valley low.
When you’re in that sunny valley, sing it soft and slow.
Chorus
Do, do, do, do, do remember me.
Do, do, do, do, do remember me.
Verse 3
Stormy ocean, stormy ocean, stormy ocean wide.
When you’re on that deep blue sea there’s no place you can hide.
Chorus
Do, do, do, do, do remember me.
Do, do, do, do, do remember me.
