File this one away in the back of your brain for trivia nights down the road: the Edina Police Department's two longest-serving officers coincidentally shared the same badge number.

That would be #104, if you're curious.

The current record-holder is none other than Detective Mike Lutz. Lutz is celebrating 40 years of service with the department, which gives him several years over Hilding "Ding" Dahl, the previous record-holder. Dahl was with the department until 1973.

"It hasn't been a struggle at all," Lutz said. "I enjoy coming to work most of the time. Time just went by fast. "

Lutz will be retiring from the Edina Police Department later this year.
