Minnesota's 19th Chuck & Don's Pet Food Outlet store welcomed eager Edina shoppers behind its door last week last week, opening for business on Monday, Mar. 4.

The store is located on the far east side of the Yorkdale Shoppes, in the same area as the Cub Foods, Caribou Coffee and Chipotle on York Avenue.

A grand opening event is planned for April 20, set to include "family-friendly activities and giveaways."

The store's hours of operation are as follows:

• 9 a.m.-9 p.m., Mondays-Fridays
• 9 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturdays
• 11 a.m.-6 p.m., Sundays

Chuck and Don's Pet Food Outlet was founded by Charles "Chuck" Anderson and Don Tauer, who met through owning, training and showing dogs. There are now 19 locations in the Twin Cities and five in Colorado.

The chain or stores offers brand name, speciality and hard-to-find pet foods and supplies for dogs, cats, small animals, reptiles and aquatic creatures.
