Quinn McManus Kirsch, an 8-year-old who passed away suddenly early Monday, Jan. 7, will be remembered at Our Lady of Grace Catholic School for his smile and "zest for life."
OLG Principal Maureen Trenary said Quinn—who was in third grade at the school—is being remembered by his teachers for "his friendliness."
"His classmates always enjoyed being with him whether it was for a school project or a football game during recess," she said. "Students wanted to be in his presence. His teachers will always remember is smile, his trademark."
Quinn has attended Our Lady of Grace since kindergarten. Students decorated more than 800 luminaries during school Wednesday, which lined the campus driveway during Quinn's visistation that night. OLG's third-grade class created a remembrance book for the Kirsch family, while parents put together a DVD with photos of Quinn alongside OLG teachers and classmates.
"He was a joy and a light to our community," Trenary said. "His mother and father and three brothers are an important part of our school and church community and we are saddened for this beloved family during this very difficult time."
In memory and honor of Quinn Kirsch and his family, the local community is planning to line streets and front doors with green balloons Thursday morning, Jan. 10.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Quinn McManus Kirsch Memorial Trust, Wells Fargo, 5116 Vernon Ave. S., Edina, MN 55436 are preferred.
