Medford residents Cherisse and Luke Beucler thought they had one week to spare before their son was born, but Bryce Lawrence Beucler apparently wanted to ring in 2013 with his family.
The Beuclers welcomed their new son at 1:34 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2013, watching the ball drop on the TV in their room at Fairview Southdale Hospital before delivering him. For the record, he was supposed to be due on Jan. 7.
Bryce was the first baby born at the Edina hospital in the New Year. He has brown hair, weighed 7 pounds, 14 ounces and measured 20½ inches long.
