Edina Golf Pro Wins PGA Award

Braemar Colf Course Professional Roger Fahrenkrug was recently named 2011 'Teacher of the Year' by the Minnesota chapter of the PGA.

One of six golf professionals employed at Edina's has been honored by the state chapter of the Professional Golf Association (PGA).

Roger Fahrenkrug was recently named the PGA's 2011 "Teacher of the Year," making him only the 17th Minnesotan to earn the distinction.

“This award says a lot about Roger’s talent as both player and teacher,” said Todd Anderson, general manager at Braemar Golf Course. “And also says something about Braemar.”

Fahrenkrug was nominated by Joe Greupner, Braemar's head professional. Greupner and fellow professional Don Berry wrote letters of recommendation on Fahrenkrug's behalf, commending his work in group and private lessons as well as his efforts to lend a hand with junior programs and club fittings on demo days.

Fahrenkrug has mentored a number of golfers over the years, including former PGA-Minnesota "Player of the Year" Don Berry.
