The Edina community is mourning the sudden loss of Quinn McManus Kirsch, 8, who passed away early Monday, Jan. 7, 2013.
Quinn was a third grade student at Our Lady of Grace Catholic School in Edina and the youngest of Kelly and Kyle Kirsch's four sons. In an obituary through Gill Brothers Funeral and Cremation Services, family members said they "loved him so much and words can't express the pain and grief we are feeling."
"We were blessed with him in our lives for eight wonderful years," the obituary reads. "Quinn was a kind, gentle boy who everyone befriended, and everyone loved. Although he has left this earth, his spirit will remain with us forever."
Jennifer Best said Quinn was a dear friend of her son, Sam, and "his family means the world to us."
"We are all heartbroken and just trying to find ways to support this family during such a horrible loss," Best said, in a post on Facebook.
In memory and honor of Quinn Kirsch and his family, the community is planning to line the streets and front doors of Edina and Minneapolis with green balloons Thursday morning, Jan. 10.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Quinn McManus Kirsch Memorial Trust, Wells Fargo, 5116 Vernon Ave. S., Edina, MN 55436 are preferred.
