Edina boys Alpine ski team is headed to state, following a second-place finish at the Section 6 race.

The Hornets finished a close second behind Chanhassen, who also advanced to this week's state meet.

Senior Captain Jake Campbell led the boys with a sixth-place finish, followed by Spencer Knack, who finished ninth.

Other skiers contributing to the Edina team were: Peter Smith (12th), Will Baker (16th), Rolf Tengdin (20) and Alex Thomson (24).

The Edina Girls team tied for fifth and was led by Anna Martinez, who qualified for state as an individual with an (11th) place finish followed by Thea Zerbe (15th).

The state meet will take place at Giant Ridge on Wednesday, Feb. 15.
