Boys Hockey Advances in Sectional Tournament

The Hornets defeated Bloomington Kennedy 15-1 on Thursday, Feb. 23.

The boys hockey team kicked off its quest for a state title Thursday, Feb. 23, with a lopsided 15-1 win over Bloomington Kennedy at .

The Hornets (20-5-0) are the No. 1 seed in the Section 2AA Tournament. The win advances them to the semifinals of the tournament, where they will meet Bloomington Jefferson. That game is set to take place at noon on Saturday, Feb. 26, at Braemar Arena.

The Hornets managed to outscore their opponents 98-51 this season, led by freshman Dylan Malmquist's 23 goals and sophomore Connor Hurley's 22. The team made it all the way to the state tournament last season, ultimately .
